Joseph F. Andrade, III, 73
Joseph F. Andrade, III, 73, of Lawn Avenue and West Palm Beach, Fla., died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Newport Hospital.
Born in Jamestown, he was a son of the late Joseph F. and Mary M. (DeSoito) Andrade.
Mr. Andrade was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during Korea.
He worked for the Jamestown/ Newport Ferry until it closed. He then worked for the Newport and Mt. Hope Bridges before retiring 10 years ago. Mr. Andrade was a member of the Newport Elks Lodge, the Holy Ghost Beneficial Brotherhood in East Providence, the Holy Ghost Society in Jamestown, the American Legion in Jamestown and the Newport branch of the Fleet Reserve. He was a member of the Eagles and the Loyal Order of the Moose in West Palm Beach. He was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
He was the father of Joseph F. Andrade, IV of Jamestown and the late Brian E. Andrade. He is also survived by two aunts, Josephine Reis and Virginia Deterra both of Jamestown.
His Funeral was held yesterday at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at St. Mark Church. Burial was in St. Mark Cemetery.
