Ali's Run Extends its Streak

Ali's Run won their third and fourth games of the season on May 8 and 13. The team defeated Horan Construction 4-1 in the May 8 game and was victorious over O'Brien's with an extra-inning 9-8 win. Gutsy pitching performances by Nathaniel Vigneault and Will Deffley kept the team in the game against a tenacious and talented O'Brien's team. Ali's tied the game in the seventh because of Vigneault's inside-the-park tworun home run. In the bottom of the ninth, Ryan Southworth walked and showed "heads up" base running by advancing to second after tagging up on a pop fly foul out. Will Deffley then singled Southworth home with the game winner. The team will next play this Sunday, May 19, at noon at Cardine's Field in Newport.
