Campaign to buckle up teens
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has joined the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the University of Rhode Island Transportation Center to celebrate National Transportation Week (May 13-19) with a wide range of activities.
RIDOT, along with the Rhode Island Interscholastic League, AAA of Southern New England, and 95.5 WBRU, sponsored the "Buckle Up, Teens" commercial contest that encourages Rhode Island high school students to create video or audio messages encouraging their peers to buckle up.
"Click It or Ticket" is a twoweek period of intensive enforcement of Rhode Island's seat belt and child restraint laws to save lives and prevent injuries on the state's roadways. The campaign runs from May 21 - June 3.
