Grange elects new officers
      The regular meeting of Newport County Pomona Grange was held on May 12 at Kickimuit Grange. A delicious ham supper was served. The grange honored Jamestown resident Charlotte Richardson for all her volunteer work, both in an out of the grange. She received two certificates, one from the National Grange and one from Newport County Pomona Grange and a basket of fruit.

Bridge-the-gap fund to hold plant sale
      The annual plant sale for the Jamestown Medical Fund will be on Saturday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Ferry. There will be flats of annuals, along with colorful hanging baskets and containers.

      Jamestown Philomenian Library invites young readers to solve the mystery of boredom during their annual summer reading extravaganza. The library's summer reading program, "Get a Clue @ Your Library," is a free celebration of reading, which includes a creative writing class, morning and evening story hours, entertainment, and activities.
