Learn new cooking skills this summer

As a fun alternative to going to the beach and traditional summer camps, Johnson & Wales University is offering individual cooking classes for adults and weeklong camps for kids and teens this summer.

The College of Culinary Arts is offering the programs for anyone interested in expanding their culinary skills.

Classes are designed for specific age ranges including adults, 8- 12 year olds and teens ages 13-16. For the summer there is even a 5- day Kid's Camp and Teen Camp.

This summer, an expanded menu of selections will be offered. A blend of old favorites and new creations, prepared to impart the secrets to becoming an expert in the kitchen are also in the line-up. Whether they are a beginner or an enthusiast, have an appetite for the very basics or a yen for the exotic, participants will find offerings to suit their taste. Interactive one-day classes are designed for people on the go - all combine hands-on experience with demonstrations. Some of the main courses and desserts offered include: Easy Summer Cooking, Finger Food Fiesta, Meals on the Go, Summer Time Salads, Know Your Grilled Vegetables, Piece of Cake and Basic Pastry Skills.
