Body fat analysis scans at library
The Friends of the Jamestown Library are sponsoring a body composition analysis program from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island on Monday, June 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the museum room.
For anyone exercising to lose weight, the scale isn't the best way to measure progress. Muscle weighs more than fat, so even if five pounds of fat have been lost, the number on the scale might not budge if you've increased muscle mass.
Stop by the body composition event this month to find out about body composition - the ratio of lean body mass to fat body mass. It is useful information, because even people of average weight can have an unhealthy percentage of body fat.
