John Chasse, 76
John Chasse, 76, of Casa Grande, Ariz. and Jamestown, died April 16, 2007 at home in Casa Grande. He was the husband of Dorothy (Doorley) Chasse for 52 years.
A retired teamster, he worked for Ardley Express and Yellow Freight.
He enjoyed the ocean, boating and camping at Ft. Getty in Jamestown. He was an excellent cook and a food critic.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters Linda Chasse and Carol (Checker) Chasse of Jamestown, his son John and wife Linda of Lyndonville, Vt., and four granddaughters, Lauren Champagne, Sarah Chasse, Elizabeth Chasse and Kathleen Champagne. He was the grandfather of the late Danielle Champagne.
He was the brother of Sister Georgette (Jeannine) Chasse RSM of Pawtucket, George Chasse and Raymond Chasse of Arizona, Laurette Lisi, of North Providence and Robert Chasse of Greenville. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at St. Mark Church. A reception will follow at the Portuguese American Citizens' Club, 138 Narragansett Ave, Jamestown.
