Sign up for Save the Bay camp

The Jamestown Education Foundation announces the return to Jamestown of Save the Bay's acclaimed marine education summer program. Some changes have been made to improve the camp and ensure that repeat campers have an interesting and exciting experience. This year, the camp will run for two full weeks, the first being July 16-20 and the second will be August 13-17. Each week will have a morning session for Jamestown students entering grades 1-4 and an afternoon session for students entering grades 5-9.

New to the camp this year will be a day on one of Save The Bay's education vessels, where campers will have a hands-on opportunity to explore the habitats of Narragansett Bay. Other camp days will include explorations of the island's rocky shores, sandy beaches and salt marshes. Camp sessions are limited to 25 students. Registration is now open through the recreation department; sign up forms are also available on-line at www.jamestownri. net. Tuition is $60 per weekly session. Scholarships are available; please do not hesitate to inquire. For more information, call Brenda Hawkins at 423-9161 or Mary Keen at 423-1225.
