Town Hall records
      Building permits Mike Jewels received a permit on June 19 to construct a 30- by 5-foot deck at 8 Baldwin Court, work estimated to cost $4,200. Fred Jones received a permit on June 19 to erect a 40- by 80-foot tent for June 29 and 30 at 185 Walcott Ave., work estimated to cost $500.

Police Log
      Larceny Nancy Kurt, 54, of 7 Sail St. was charged with larceny under $500 after being observed on a video surveillance tape allegedly taking a donation canister for the Fourth of July fireworks, police said. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for July 6 at Newport District Court according to police.

      Fire runs 12:32 p.m., June 18, Car 1, EMS1, Engines 1, 2 and 3 answered a shorted electrical equipment call on Fort Wetherill Rd. 2:37 p.m., June 18, Engine 2 responded to a false alarm on Frigate Street 1:47 p.m., June 19, Car 1, Ladder 1, Car 3, Engines 1, 2 and 3 were dispatched to Lawn Avenue for a shorting electric range call.
