Katherine J. Fredette, 62
Katherine Jane (Martin) Fredette, 62, of Narragansett, formerly of Jamestown and Cranston, died unexpectedly June 19 at South County Hospital.
Born in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Suzanne (Thomas) and Luther Martin.
She was married to Anthony deWardener and John Fredette.
She spent her childhood in Westport, Conn. A graduate of Staples High School, she moved to Rhode Island to attend the University of Rhode Island.
She is survived by a son, Guy A. deWardener, a daughter, Danielle S. (deWardener) Dasta, both of Narragansett; two grandchildren, Reece and Zachary deWardener; a sister Janet Kaemmerling of California. She was the sister of the late Judith Teeney.
She lived in Jamestown for two decades before moving to Narragansett in 2003. She was a longtime employee of South County Hospital and South County Surgical Supply. She was an avid kayaker and raced cars when she was younger. She enjoyed life and worked very hard. She was loved by family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were by the Avery-Storti Funeral Home.
