Library's book sale begins July 5
The annual book sale at the Jamestown Library will open this year on Thursday, July 5 at 7 p.m. with a paid preview night.
Some little used and much loved volumes will be available at great prices. The admission will be free for paid-up members of the Friends of the Library or $10 for non-members. The sale will continue until Saturday, July 21 at 2 p.m.
Prices are $2 for hardcover books, $1 for paperbacks, $1 for children's hardcover books, and 50-cents for children's paperback books. Special priced books are available, including a table of Jamestown and Rhode Island history volumes.
After Friday, June 29, the library asks that people hold their book donations until after the sale is over. Donations will be accepted in August. Donations of materials cannot be accepted during the sale. Other libraries may be able to take donations during that time. Appropriate donations include books, videos, DVDs, audio cassettes that are free of dust. Magazines, Readers Digest condensed books and text books and any item that may have gotten mildewed, are not accepted.
The regular hours of the Jamestown Library are Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday noon to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and summer Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
