Book sale begins July 5
The annual book sale at the Jamestown library will open this year on Thursday, July 5, at 7 p.m. with a paid preview night.
Some little-used and muchloved volumes will be available at great prices. The admission will be free for paid members of the Friends of the Library or $10 for non-members. The sale will continue until Saturday, July 21, at 2 p.m.
Prices are $2 for hardcover books, $1 for paperbacks, $1 for children's hardcover books, and 50-cents for children's paperback books. There are special priced books available, including a table of Jamestown and Rhode Island history volumes.
After Friday, June 29, the library asks that people hold their book donations until after the sale is over. Donations will be accepted in August. Donations of materials cannot be accepted during the sale. There are other libraries that may be able to take donations during that time. Appropriate donations include books, videos, DVDs, and audio cassettes that are free of dust. Magazines, Readers Digest condensed books and textbooks and any item that may have gotten mildewed are not accepted.
The sale will be conducted during normal library hours.
