Garden grants available
The University of Rhode Island Master Gardeners are now accepting applications for their annual gardening educational grants to be awarded for 2007.
Each year the Master Gardener Association uses interest gained from its educational endowment fund to offer two grants of $750 each to non-profit entities such as community groups, church groups or to school-based programs. Master Gardener community projects are also eligible.
Grant money is awarded for an educational program based on the principles of the environmentally sound gardening practices endorsed by the association.
The deadline for submissions is Aug. 30.
Applications can be obtained by contacting Paula Theroux, MGA public education coordinator at email@example.com or by writing to the URI Master Gardener Association, 3 East Alumni Avenue, Kingston, RI 02881.
