Diepenbrock show at museum

A new show at the Newport Art Museum gives visitors a look at the experimental phase of the creative process, something most people never see.

"Through the Looking Glass… an Installation," by Jamestown resident Peter Diepenbrock, has been a work in progress for the past0 three weeks. Diepenbrock expects to finish the installation on or about July 12. During this early period, visitors will be invited to observe while the artist assembles the large wire installation in the museum's Wright Gallery.

"Through the Looking Glass," runs through Sept. 2 and the museum will host an opening reception during Newport Gallery Night, tonight, July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Newport Art Museum is located at 76 Bellevue Avenue across from Touro Park. For more information, call 848-8200 or visit www.newportartmuseum.com.
