Farm tours part of 350th events
The Jamestown farming community has put together two special events as part of the 350th Anniversary celebration. Historic New England's Watson Farm will be hosting a guided tour on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 4 p.m. Led by farm managers Don and Heather Minto, this tour will focus on the agricultural history of Conanicut Island. There is a $3.50 fee for the tour. No pre-registration is required.
There will be two trolley tours of Jamestown's working farms on Friday, Aug. 17, at 2 and 4 p.m. Organized by the Jamestown Farm Viability Committee, this is a rare opportunity to visit Jamestown's working farms and meet the farmers. The trolley will leave Melrose school promptly at 2 and 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Tickets are $3.50 and are on sale at Baker's Pharmacy, Jamestown Hardware and Watson Farm.
