'Men' will perform Sept. 1
The Men's Chorus of Jamestown will perform in concert on Saturday, Sept. 1.
The popular group, formerly known as the Jamestown All-Guy Choir, will present a fun evening of music and just a bit of silliness.
Earlier this summer the chorus sang the national anthem at Mc- Coy Stadium prior to a Pawtucket Red Sox game and has recently performed at the Jamestown Community Chorus' Annual Talent Show.
The chorus is under the direction of founder B.J. Whitehouse. Mr. Whitehouse will lead the chorus in favorites such as "Danny Boy," "There's Nothing Like a Dame" and Billy Joel's "The Longest Time." Other musical styles include: sea shanties, music hall numbers, doo-wop, barbershop and a medley of songs by the late, great James Brown.
And, of course, the audience will join in during the sing-along portion of the program.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the community center, 41 Conanicus Ave.
Tickets will be available at the door or by calling 423-1574 for reservations. Ticket prices are $7 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.
