Chorus to perform Saturday night
      The Men's Chorus of Jamestown will present its annual concert on Saturday, Sept. 1. The popular group, formerly known as the Jamestown All-Guy Choir, will present a fun evening of music and just a bit of silliness. The chorus is under the direction of founder B.J. Whitehouse, who is in his fifteenth season.

Cruise to the vintage car show
      Vintage car enthusiasts have something to look forward to this weekend. The annual Jamestown Seaside Family Cruise will be at Ft. Getty on Sunday, Sept. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In recent years, some 200 classic cars have made the trip to Jamestown to park on the hill overlooking the bay. On beautiful, sunny days, the chrome just gleams at that location.

      Naval Station Newport will present the "Salute to Summer," concert and fireworks extravaganza on Dewey Field, featuring the Navy Band Northeast and opening act Soul Power, beginning at 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31.
