A reunion of the employees of the Derecktor Shipyard met aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Seneca, which was built at the Derecktor shipyard in Middletown and commissioned in 1987. The 278-foot cutter is commanded by Commander Bill Kelly, son of Mary and Bill Kelly of Reservoir Circle, Jamestown. The reunion was held on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Newport Naval Station. Several island residents attended the event. They are John Benson, Kathy Farrell, Barbara Murray Benson, Wray and Heidi Lessard, Karen Benson, Bill Kelly, and Cmdr. Bill Kelly.
