Bus trip to galleries planned
      On Thursday, Sept. 20, the Friends of the Jamestown Library will provide bus transportation to Citizen's Plaza in Providence for a fun night out on Gallery Night. Experience the city's exciting art scene while riding the Art Trolley from gallery to gallery. The charter bus leaves the Jamestown Golf Course parking lot at 5:15 p.m. and returns at 9:30 p.m.

Infant storytime begins next week
      Beginning Sept. 10, Mother Goose Time for infants and babies up through 24 months old will be held on Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Mother Goose Time will feature board books, play rhymes, finger games, and music. Beginning Sept. 12, storytime for 2-year-olds with their caregivers will be held on Wednesday mornings from 10:15 to 11 a.m.

Register for CCD at St. Mark church
      Registration for all religious education classes at St. Mark Church will be held on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16 after the 10 a.m. Mass. New this year are pre-printed registration forms to save time. Anyone who was not registered last year will need to register to be added to the new software program. All children must be in the new system to be assigned to a class.

      All Jamestown boys entering grades 1 through 5 who are interested in joining Cub Scouts are invited to meet representatives of Jamestown Pack One at the Pack's annual signup rally on Wednesday, Sept. 12.       The Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties hold free blood pressure clinics the first Thursday of the month from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Jamestown library, 26 North Main Rd., Jamestown. The clinic will be today, Sept. 6, in the Sydney L. Wright Museum room.
