Zoning rulings inconsistent
      As reported in the Press of Feb. 2, 2006, Cingular Wireless was denied an application to construct a communication antenna at 179 Tashtassuc Rd. where the generator used to sit. The reason for the request was to reduce significant gaps in coverage.

      All Jamestown Police Officers want to acknowledge and thank Ramon Ibarlucea of the highway department for the outstanding job he did in renovating and restoring our break room at the department headquarters on Conanicus Avenue.

Bridge property deal smells bad
      Now that the people have settled on the Taylor Point site for the new town barn, it's time to look at the proposed deal with the bridge authority. It doesn't smell good. There are hundreds of bridges in Rhode Island, most of them maintained by the state. Only the Pell Bridge has a toll and only because there is an authority.

Get a library card this month
      Today's kids are well outfitted. Parents make sure their kids have the gear they need for all of their activities- uniforms for soccer, safety helmets for bike riding and new backpacks and binders for a new school year- but they might have overlooked the most important supply of all.
