The North Kingstown Arts Council announces the class lineup for the Fall Take an Arts Break Program. Entering its fourth season, the Take an Arts Break program offers classes in the arts, designed and taught by local artists. This season, the program will be open to residents of towns other than North Kingstown, although at a higher registration cost. More ... There will be a registration for new Girl Scouts on Thursday, Sept. 20. The Jamestown Teen Center will hold open hours for teens from 2 to 9 p.m. every Friday at the recreation center. All students in grades 7 to 12 can come down for basketball, ping-pong, pool, and hang out with friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday nights will be open for all high school students in grades 9 to 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. More ... Off the Curb will be bringing its hip-hop dance classes back to Jamestown. Starting Sept. 17, at 5 p.m., Off the Curb will be giving lessons at the Jamestown Community Center. The cost is $30 for 8 weeks and payment can be made to Off The Curb the first day of class. The classes are geared for ages 13 and up. More ... Registration for all religious education classes at St. Mark Church will be held on Sept. 16 after the 10 a.m. Mass. New this year are pre-printed registration forms to save time. Anyone who was not registered last year will need to register to be added to the new software program. All children must be in the new system to be assigned to a class. More ... Knitting for all ages will begin at the Jamestown Philomenian Library on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. and will continue throughout the year. The Sunday sessions are free and open to all levels of expertise and will take place in the children's area of the library. More ... On Thursday, Sept. 20, the Friends of the Jamestown Library will provide bus transportation to Citizen's Plaza in Providence for a fun night out on Gallery Night. Experience the city's exciting art scene while riding the Art Trolley from gallery to gallery. The charter bus leaves the Jamestown Golf Course parking lot at 5:15 p.m. and returns at 9:30 p.m. More ... The Audubon Society of Rhode Island will sponsor a coastal cleanup event on Saturday, Sept. 15, at locations around Rhode Island, including Jamestown.
