New town hall opens Oct. 4
The new Town Hall is finally complete and ready for occupancy by several departments.
Over the course of three days, Oct. 1, 2 and 3, town employees will move their headquarters from the golf course at 245 Conanicus Ave. to the Town Hall at 93 Narragansett Ave.
During the move, the town offices building at 44 Southwest Ave. will be open for limited business for the payment of taxes and water bills only. All departments that formerly operated out of three locations will open at the new town hall on Thursday, Oct. 4.
The following offices will operate out of the new town hall: Town Clerk's office, Probate, Board of Canvassers, Planning Office, Tax Assessor's Office, Building and Zoning Office, Harbor Office, Finance Department, Tax Collector, Water and Sewer Clerk's Office, Public Works Director, Town Engineer and Town Administration.
No business will be conducted at the golf course or the building on Southwest Avenue after the reopening of the town hall.
