Flu clinic planned

The Friends of the Jamestown Library are sponsoring a Flu Shot Clinic from Blue Cross at the Jamestown library on Monday, Oct. 29, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Getting the flu can make people feel rotten. It can cause body aches, sore throat, fever, cough, congestion, and extreme fatigue. The best defense against the flu is a flu shot.

For anyone not sure whether they should get a flu shot, talk with a physician or call the Rhode Island Department of Health Immunization Hotline at 1-800-555- 7858. Flu vaccines cannot be administered to anyone under the age of 18. Anyone who has medical insurance should bring their insurance card with them to the clinic.

This is the first of two clinics sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The next one will be Monday, Dec. 3, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

For more information, call the library at 423-7280.
