Eat pasta with the Democrats
      The Jamestown Democratic Committee will hold a fund-raising pasta dinner on Saturday, Oct. 20, starting at 6 p.m. at the Portuguese American Citizen's Club, 138 Narragansett Ave. Participants can meet the Democratic candidates for Town Council and School Committee and support their local Democratic Committee.

Music for little ones at the library
      Moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers of young children and babies are invited to come gather around with Christopher "Kavi" Carbone, the musical troubadour of light and warmth. Participants will enjoy music, rhythms, movement, sing-able songs and more. This program, which will be held Monday, Oct. 22, at 10:30 a.m.

      The Historic Watson Farm will be open for a special day this Sunday, Oct. 21, from 2 to 5 p.m. for the "Watson Farm Quest." The quest is a scavenger hunt for all ages and is free and open to the public.

An aircraft carrier mission briefing
      Friends of the Jamestown Library will sponsor a look at the fascinating beginnings and detailed history of the aircraft carrier today, Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. Maj. Mike Coletta, USMC, a native Rhode Islander and current student at the Naval War College in Newport, will give the presentation using first-hand knowledge of these airports on water. Maj.

Bat man back by popular demand
      The Jamestown Philomenian Library will present "Bats: Fact, Fiction and Natural History," on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. The presentation, which is for students in grade 6 and up and adults, will be conducted by URI Coastal Institute Director Dr. Peter August, who is also a professor in the department of natural resources science.
