Police Log
      Drunk driving charged James M. Gilbane, 49, of Rumford, was charged Oct. 25 with first offense drunk driving after a toll plaza employee reported a man sleeping behind the wheel at in one of the toll lanes, police said. Gilmore was held overnight at the police station and taken to Newport District Court the following morning for arraignment, police said.

Fire and EMS Runs
      Fire runs 1:44 p.m., Oct. 23, Engine 2 was sent to Post Road in North Kingstown for a mutual aid call. 7 p.m., Oct. 25, All units responded to a training drill at the fire station on Narragansett Avenue. EMS runs 3:15 p.m., Oct 21, EMS 1 drove a patient to Newport Hospital from Knowles Court barn who was brought in by a medical professional.
