Town hall records
      Building permits Gerry Bay received a permit on Nov. 9 to repair a roof and replace beams at 27 Newport St., work estimated to cost $20,000. Nick Kouttab received a permit on Nov. 13 to install a glass slider at 58 Keel Ave., work estimated to cost $3,995.

Police Log
      Drunk driving charged Darien Petit, 52, of 29 Riptide St., was charged on Nov. 16 with first offense drunk driving after an auto accident on Clarke Street. Police said he also refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30 at Newport District Court, according to police.

Fire and EMS Runs
      Fire runs 11:19 a.m., Nov. 13, Engine 3 was dispatched in response to a motor vehicle accident on East Shore Road at Wright Lane. 10:56 p.m., Nov. 13, Ladder 1, Engines 1 and 3 were sent to Plymouth Road in response to a malfunctioning alarm system.

For the record
      In last week's planning commission story, the Randall Gallery building was reported to be moved in a major land development on Narragansett Avenue. The gallery building will not be moved, but will be incorporated and attached with a new construction to the east. The mansard-roofed building to the east of the gallery will be moved back and facing Howland Avenue.
