Janet Davis Callahan, 87
Janet Davis Callahan, 87, of Jupiter, Fla. and Jamestown, died Nov. 5, 2007 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Hospice following a brief illness.
Born on July 22, 1920 in Springfield, Mass., she moved to the Jupiter area in 1985. She was a former resident of West Hartford, Conn.
She was a member of the Jupiter First Church and the Wellesley Club of the Palm Beaches. She was a lifelong Republican party activist and was a philanthropist, giving her time and energy, politically, socially and economically. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger E. Callahan. She was a longtime summer resident of Jamestown, living in the Fairview Street cottage originally purchased by her grandfather in the 1880s.
Survivors include three children, Joan C. Beaulieu and Davis Callahan, both of Florida, and Bruce W. Callahan of New Hampshire, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
