Downing named editor at the Press
      Adrienne Downing has been appointed editor of the Jamestown Press. She succeeds Donna Drago, who has retired. Originally from Maryland, Downing has lived in seven different states and one foreign country as a military wife.

Create a logo for the Teen Center
      The Jamestown Teen Center is accepting submissions for a logo design for the official teen center name and logo. The deadline for submissions is 3 p.m. on Dec. 8, at the recreation office, 41 Conanicus Ave. This is a change from the original Dec. 1 deadline. The winner of the competition will win $100 and their design will be used as the official teen center logo.

Tap your toes at Holiday concert
      The Jamestown Community Band, under the direction of Sarah Geremia, will hold its annual Christmas concert next Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Portuguese American Citizens' Club on Narragansett Avenue. The concert will start at 7 p.m., and the band will play a mixture of traditional and favorite Christmas tunes.
