Local author publishes renovating book
Confronted with hundreds of decisions that range from the deceptively simple to the complex and costly, most homeowners find themselves bewildered, overwhelmed, and uninformed when it comes to renovating. "The Pocket Renovator: An Illustrated Guide to the Language of Home Improvement and Renovation," covers indepth, the most common and complex issues facing the first-time homebuyer and renovator.
The book was written by mother-and-daughter team Leslie Banker, of Jamestown, and Pamela Banker, of New York City.
A book signing will be held Dec. 1, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at House, 152 Mill St. in Newport.
Following on the success of "The Pocket Decorator," published in 2004, this beautifully- illustrated and compact guide covers the key facets of construction and renovation.
The book, published by Universe, in Oct. 2007, is now available at bookstores and on-line (ISBN 978-0789315724).
