Learn to take great shots with photography class

The Wickford Art Association is offering an open figure and portrait session on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drop-in fee is $10. An informal still-life group meets on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $2 per session. Artists must bring their own materials. In addition, the association is now accepting enrollment for Howard Rubenstein's, "How to Take Great Photographs" class. The course will help students to think differently about what they see, allowing them to capture more interesting imagery. Photographers of any level of development are welcome. A fee of $75 for members or $90 for nonmembers is required. The class will meet for two hours per week for five weeks. The class will begin once six students have registered and paid. For additional questions about the course, call Howard Rubenstein at 294-3581.

The association is also offering a Beginning Photoshop Class with Bill Brennan. The beginner course assumes little or no experience with Photoshop and covers basic preferences, tools, menus, settings, navigation and image processing. The cost of the class is $100 for members or $110 for non-members. The class will be on a Monday or Saturday night, depending upon the class preference and will run for five weeks. Contact the gallery at 294- 6840, or visit www.wickfordart.org for more information.
