Wide ranging lecture topics set

The Newport Art Museum's Winter Lecture Series will begin in January with topics ranging from the 2008 political landscape to the medicine of ancient Egyptian art.

The lecture series, which runs from Jan. 5 to Feb. 23, will be held Saturdays at 2 p.m.

The Jan. 5 lecture will feature "A Survey of a Craft of Photography" by Richard Benson, a photographer, printer, and professor of art from Yale University.

Lectures are held in the Illgenfritz Gallery. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers, which includes admission to the museum. Tickets for each lecture can be purchased in advance at the museum's reception desk. Seating is limited.
