Marianne Schoenebeck, 95
Marianne Schoenebeck, 95, of Jamestown, passed away at the John Clarke Nursing Center on Dec. 19, 2007. She was born in Moenchen-Gladbach, Germany on Feb. 4, 1912. She was the wife of the late F. W. Hugo Schoenebeck.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sabine Dinsmoor and husband William of Anacortes, Wash., Sigrid Gallagher-Schoenebeckof Bristol and Marie-Luise Hedberg and husband Gregory B. of Jamestown. She was the beloved grandmother of Irina Couch of Coquille, Ore., Jessica and Yuri Verniers of Belgium and Jesse and Dustin Hedberg of Jamestown. She was the mother-in-law of the late Gerald M. Gallagher. She is also survived by seven greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Marianne graduated from nursing school in Magdeburg, Germany in 1932. She was married in Berlin in 1939. After raising her family she went to work for the Bausparkasse in Schwaebisch Hall, Germany in the mortgage department. She retired in 1974 and lived for the next 21 years in Limelette, Belgium. In 1995, she moved to America to be near her daughters in Jamestown.
She was an avid reader, had a passion for politics and poetry, and loved to travel but was most happy spending time with her family.
A celebration of Marianne's life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private.
