Yet another warm day for Frostbiters
For the last racing in 2006, Frostbiters got another sunny day in the high 30s with light and shifty northerly winds. Race Committee Dick Allphin and Dick Hutchinson set up a windward/leeward course just south of the Conanicut Marina. Thirty degree wind shifts and a strong tide kept the racing results close except for first place. With four boats and five sailors each sailor sat out one race. Between each race one sailor would come along side the inflatable race committee boat to change skippers. Five races were held with each skipper sailing four. Martin Keen had a perfect day with four firsts for four points. John Quinn was second with nine points; Joe Logan and John Horton were tied in points for third with 12 points each, and Gary Fisher was fifth with 13 points.
The Shellback Dinghy Frostbiters invite beginner or experienced sailors to join them Sunday mornings. Come race or help on the committee boat.
