Rehearsals begin for spring concerts

On Monday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m., the Jamestown Community Chorus will begin rehearsals at Central Baptist Church for its spring concert titled “Going Home,” which will be performed on May 5 and 6. The concert will include selections from this country’s heritage with singing, dancing, and instrumentalists.

The chorus is seeking additional singers who will not only perform in May, but also be a part of RISings II, the second concert of the Rhode Island Festival Chorus. Jamestown Community Chorus is one of five choruses that will perform on Sunday, April 29, at East Providence High School.

There are no auditions, and experience in a choral setting is not necessary. There is a modest membership fee and nominal cost for music.

For more information call B. J. Whitehouse at 423-1574, or visit www.jamestownri.com/chorus.
