Drunk driving charged

Keith Bogues, 26, of Newport was charged Jan. 22 with driving under the influence after he was stopped on Route 138 for speeding and swerving.

Bogues also refused to take a Breathalyzer test, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in Newport District Court Feb. 2, police said.

Illegal immigrant held

Antonio Conceicao, 48, of Fall River was held for being in the country illegally after police stopped to help him with a flat tire.

After a license check, Conceicao was found to be wanted by the federal immigration service, and he was detained until a representative of that agency could pick him up, police said.
