Irish dance this Saturday

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is hosting a Traditional Irish Ceili fund-raiser on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Hibernian Hall, 2 Wellington Square in Newport.

Ceili is a form of traditional Irish line dancing.

Mary and Donal Lehane from County Clare will be on hand to teach interested parties dance steps. Live Irish music will be provided by Patchy Caubeens and dancers from the Nevin Academy of Irish Dancers will perform. Light refreshments will be served.

The Ceili is family-friendly event. Tickets, at $10 per person and $20 per family, will be available at the door. Members of the LAOH will gather to celebrate mass at St. Augustine Church prior to the Ceili at 5 p.m. For more information, call Jean Lehane at 846-1743.
