James R. Filkins, 58

James R. Filkins, 58, of Bayberry Road died peacefully at Brigham & Women's/Dana - Farber Cancer C e n t e r , B o s t o n , Mass., on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007.

Jim was an active member of the comm u n i t y presently serving on the School Committee. He was also the current administrator of Jamestown Emergency Medical Services, and a member of both the Jamestown Community Chorus and the Jamestown's Men's Chorus.

Prior to moving to Jamestown, he lived in Sterling, Mass. He was a retired educator, having been Art Department chairman for 20 years at Algonquin Regional High School, Northboro, Mass.

Jim is survived by his wife, Agnes; son, Keith; brother John; and sister Rebecca.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
