Learn about heirloom plants A free lecture on heirloom plants in New England will be presented Saturday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of the Coastal Institute on the main University of Rhode Island campus. "History Alive: Heirloom Plants of Early New England," an illustrated talk, will be given by John Forti, curator of historic landscapes at Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth, N.H. The lecture is free but because of the limited capacity of the auditorium, those who wish to attend must contact Beverly O'Keefe, MGA Advance Education coordinator, at ladyslip@verizon.net. Registration will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The Coastal Institute is located on Greenhouse Road, opposite the URI greenhouse complex. |
