Edward J. Fairfield, 87

Edward J. Fairfield, 87, of Starboard Avenue, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2007 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. Kelly.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Richard and Annie (Donahue) Fairfield. He was a graduate of St. Michael's Catholic School.

He was a licensed plumber for the University of Rhode Island for 19 years before retiring. He was member of the State of RI Employee Retirees Union. Mr. Fairfield was a communicant of St. Mark Church.

He leaves a son and his wife, Earl and Kathleen Fairfield of Cranston; a daughter, Diane Fairfield of Jamestown; a sister, Virginia Westerman of Warwick; and a granddaughter Caitlin Fairfield of Cranston. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Langlois, Rita McGinness, Louise, Earl and Richard Fairfield.

His funeral was held Wednesday from the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark Church, Jamestown. Burial was in St. Mark Cemetery.
