Defensive driving class offered for seniors

Vern Stromberg will teach the basics of defensive driving with the AARP driver safety program, formerly known as 55-Alive.

Held over two sessions, the classroom course will provide drivers, 50 and older, a review of driving skills and techniques, as well as strategies and tips to help adjust to normal age-related physical changes that may affect driving ability.

Those who complete the 8-hour course may qualify for a discount on their auto insurance.

The next session is scheduled for Monday and Wednesday afternoons, March 19 and March 21. The class will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. each day at the Jamestown Senior Center, 6 West St.

The fee is $10; make checks are payable to AARP. Payment is due at the first class.
