Thanks to fire department volunteers

I would like to thank and acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department during the storm last week. As I was out of town last week, Deputy Chief Ken Gladding and Deputy Chief Howie Tighe were instrumental in handling the many and varied situations that arose all over the island during the storm. I would also like to thank members of the department that responded to pump cellars and assist the police with road blockage details, among a number of other emergency duties. It is assuring to know that the town is in such capable hands.

Fire Chief James R. Bryer, Jr.
