Learn water safety techniques

On Sunday, April 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Tootell Aquatic Center, the URI Army ROTC will be running a Water Safety Training workshop for anyone 10 years and older.

Some of the events include making floatation devices from clothing, a ten-meter swim with dummy equipment, jumping off a diving board blindfolded, holding a dummy weapon, and removing equipment under water. Participants should wear a swimming suit, bring sneakers and socks, which you are able to get wet and the Army will provide the rest.

The cost of this program is $5. URI students, Tootell pass holders and Mackal field house members are free. For more information call Joanne at the ROTC Office at 874- 5459.
