Penelope S. Clarke, 91

Penelope S. Clarke, 91, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of Jamestown, died April 15, 2007 after a short illness.

Born in Jamestown, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Ethel M. Clarke.

Penny was deputy Town Clerk under the late John Hammond, served as secretary of the Jamestown Bridge Commission, and did title search work for several attorneys in the South County area during her years of employment.

She is survived by her sister, Winifred C. Russell of Virginia Beach and a brother, William A. Clarke Jr. of Fairfax, Va.; also many nieces and nephews, greatnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ida C. Dalrymple, two brothers, Richard S. Clarke, and Russell S. Clarke, of Jamestown.
