Archaeologist will talk about indigenous people

The South Kingstown Public Library, in Peace Dale, will present "Ancient Indian Peoples of New England - An Archaeological Perspective," with Alan Leveillee on Sunday, May 20, at 2 p.m.

This event is the last in the library's "11,000 Years of Local History" series.

Leveillee frequently speaks and publishes about archaeological research. He serves with both the Public Archaeology Lab and the Society for American Archaeology.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.

Support for this program is provided by the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Friends of the Peace Dale Library.

The library is located at 1057 Kingstown Rd., Peace Dale.
