Ft. Getty event will honor Jim Filkins

A date has been set for an event to celebrate the life of Jim Filkins, a community member who died over the winter.

Organizers are planning a June 24 daytime picnic at the Ft. Getty pavilion that will feature Irish music.

Filkins, a retired art teacher, served on the Jamestown School Committee and was active in the administration of the Jamestown Emergency Medical Services organization.
