Fire department holds annual meeting
      The Jamestown Fire Department held their annual meeting and election of officers on May 3 at the fire station. Fire Chief James R. Bryer, Jr. who did not have to seek re-election this year, oversaw the meeting that was attended by nearly 60 active, trainee and retired members of the department.

Camps for musicians this summer at URI
      The University of Rhode Island Fine Arts Center will host a preparatory music program, under the direction of Jane Murray, in July. The String Week camp will run from July 9 to 13 and is open to students from grade 3 to grade 9 who are intermediate level players of instruments.

Cinderella on stage tonight at Rocky Hill
      Tonight, Thursday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. the Rocky Hill Lower School will perform Rogers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella," at the Goddard Park Carousel. The performance is under the direction of grade 5 teacher Mary Wright, who also directs for the Jamestown Community Theatre.
