Register for summer reading program

Jamestown Philomenian Library invites young readers to solve the mystery of boredom during their annual summer reading extravaganza. The library's summer reading program, "Get a Clue @ Your Library," is a free celebration of reading, which includes a creative writing class, morning and evening story hours, entertainment, and activities.

The program is open to young people from preschool through young adult. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program. Young adults grade 6 and up, are invited to join their own program, "007: Licensed to Read." Independent readers will be given journals to write about the books they are reading, new words they have learned, their summer activities and ideas of all kinds.

Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins on Tuesday, May 29, and continues throughout the summer.

The Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of Jamestown Philomenian Library, the RI Office of Library and Information Services, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, McDonald's Restaurants of Rhode Island and the Citizens Bank Foundation.
