Body fat scans soon at library

The Friends of the Jamestown Library are sponsoring a body composition analysis program by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island on Monday, June 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Sydney L. Wright Museum room.

The Wellness Van will not be present at this event.

When exercising to lose weight, the scale isn't always the best way to measure progress. Muscle weighs more than fat, so even if five pounds of fat has been lost, the number on the scale might not budge if muscle mass has been increased.

Stop by the body composition event this month to find out body composition - the ratio of lean body mass to fat body mass. It's useful information, because even people of average weight can have an unhealthy percentage of body fat.

For more information, call the library at 423-7280.
