Nature journals program June 2

Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum will hold a handson workshop aimed at deepening enjoyment and understanding of the garden, nature, and the world through the art of journaling on Saturday, June 2, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Learn drawing and observation exercises that will allow participants to create a valuable record of their gardening and nature experiences.

Time will be spent learning techniques, sketching the Blithewold gardens, and sharing published and personal journal work. Bring a sketchbook and favorite drawing materials.

Instructor Gretchen Halpert, president of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, has taught illustration at RISD/CE, Brown University, Wheaton College and at workshops around the world. Gretchen produces original works that grace the pages of many books, journals and scientific publications.
