Ophelia sessions go to film festival

Child & Family Ophelia Programs will present an exciting collaboration with the- Newport International Film Festival, from June 6 to 10.

Adolescent girls and young women will have the opportunity to view films specifically chosen for the typical life issues and topics that teenage girls and young women often relate to while growing up. The carefully selected films will touch on issues relating to diversity, relationships, body image, and eating disorders.

They will also invite teenage girls and young women to attend special programs and panel discussions involving actors, writers, and directors and allow them to attend selected musical events related to the film festival.

These collaborate programs are free and open to teenage girls and young women of Newport County, thanks to the generosity of the Elizabeth Swinburne Fund and the Rhode Island Foundation.

For further details, dates, times and locations, contact Sharon Rust-Bottone, Director of Child & Family Ophelia Programs, at 848-4206 or by email srust-bottone@ cfsnewport.org.
